The clinic is headed by Dr.T.Senthil who is an Ophthalmologist par excellence. Dr.Senthil is a young energetic Ophthalmologist and an innovative strategic thinker whose ideas have brought high quality eye care within the reach of common people. His vision is to bring a "Wal Mart" kind of revolution in eye care in India . |
Dr.Senthil completed M.B.B.S and Ophthalmology Residency at Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute Chennai India. (S.R.M.C) This institute is a Harvard Medical International Affiliated institute in India.

Dr.Senthil spearheaded Unite For Sights activities in India. He has been associated with Unite for Sight since 2004 and developed a “Model Volunteer Programme” which is now being followed in many countries where Unite For Sight works and has helped a few hundreds of Unite for Sights Volunteers gain an insight into Indian healthcare scenario and has educated them on the Basics of Eye Care. |
Most of these volunteers have now gained admission into Medical Schools / Optometry/ Ophthalmology Programmes in USA.
He was instrumental in the making of the Unite for Sight Film "An Eye Opener in India," which debuted in April 2006 at Unite for Sight's Third Annual International Health Conference at Yale University in Connecticut. The film motivates students from many Universities to take up Volunteering with Unite for Sight. Dr.Senthil also traveled to Thailand to implement Unite for Sights eye care Programmes in Sankalaburi which is a forest village in the Burmese border with absolutely no eye care. Sankalaburi is now having regular Optometrists and Ophthalmologists who provide the much needed eye care in the region. Dr.Senthil has given received a “ Humanitarian Volunteer of the Year Award for the year 2007” at a conference held at Stanford University. USA.
